Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- As government and business leaders gather in Paris for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, aka COP21, there is an important element missing - small businesses - according to Rebecca R. Rubin, President and CEO of 13-year old international environmental consulting firm Marstel-Day LLC.
Small business interests should be a vital consideration at the climate talks table, because they constitute such a major component of the economy. In the U.S., 99.7 percent of employer firms are small businesses, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The Director of Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs and Local Development at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Sergio Arzeni, called small business "the Heart of the Global Economy."

"To facilitate that cultural shift we need small business to have an active role and serious consideration in any climate change impact regime, especially of COP21's magnitude, because of the impact of small businesses."
