Marstel-Day Launches Wildlife Conservation Awareness Campaign
Fredericksburg, VA Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- International environmental consulting firm Marstel-Day, LLC kicks off a 12-month Wildlife Conservation Awareness campaign with a presentation from Bryan Arroyo, Assistant Director for International Affairs for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Spurred on by outrage at 30,000 elephants per year killed for their ivory, among other shocking statistics, Marstel-Day CEO Rebecca Rubin created the series to shine a light on major wildlife conservation issues - and present ways individuals and businesses can help.
The campaign includes monthly talks by leading conservationists who will present an in-depth analysis of a particular wildlife conservation issue, how it affects the ecosystem, and invite suggestions by members of the audience. At each session, a brown bag luncheon, the speaker will present options for what the public and industry can do to help, and Rubin will present Marstel-Day's commitment for that issue.
Arroyo's talk will be on International Trade in Endangered Species and take place on January 27, 2015 from 12-1:30pm EDT at the Marstel-Day Alexandria, VA office, with a broadcast to Marstel-Day's Fredericksburg, VA office (members of the public are invited to register to attend in person or by livestream, using the information below) . Mr. Arroyo coordinates the Fish and Wildlife Service's domestic and international strategies to protect, restore and enhance the world's diverse wildlife and their habitats with a focus on species of international concern. He is responsible for the implementation of 40 conventions, treaties, and agreements, and oversees the International Wildlife Trade and Wildlife Without Borders programs.
"Conservation is the core of Marstel-Day's mission and values, and when we heard statistics like 30,000 elephants killed per year by poachers, we knew we had to use our resources do something to help mitigate the crisis before we lose entire species," Marstel-Day CEO and President Rebecca Rubin explained. "Every threat to a species reflects a threat to the ecosystem we all depend on every day. The need is urgent. We are losing animals and reducing our ecosystem's effectiveness daily. Everyone can do something, no matter how small."
