Mass Foodies Dedicated to Local Restaurant Scene
Worcester, MA (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- The culture around the hospitality industry, most notably food and beverage, has seen unprecedented change and growth both on a local and national level. Chefs have found international celebrity, food on television and the web has become part of our everyday life, passion for cooking has skyrocketed and eating out has become a true social experience.
Leveraging this growth, a new digital platform has emerged whose mission is to introduce the casual Foodie to information about Chefs, restaurants, food, and the entire dining experience here in Massachusetts. Beginning in 2016, Mass Foodies will launch and begin to share a unique perspective with its readers.
Mass Foodies will be formed by merging local organizations, including WorcesterScene.com and the social organization, Worcester Foodies, before strategically growing to include content extending beyond Worcester’s seven hills, covering the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Expanding the foundation laid by WorcesterScene.com, founded by Luke M. Vaillancourt in 2006, Mass Foodies will put food at the forefront of everything it does; namely its editorial content and events. "Not everyone has a professional culinary background, not everyone has a sophisticated enough palate to tell the difference between coriander and cardamom—or, like me, even know what they are," says Vaillancourt. "But food is a passion. Mass Foodies will be about educating and entertaining our audience. Chefs will be able to tell their story as to why they do what they do. And the public will be introduced to exclusive dining experiences all around the Commonwealth. More so, apart from the education and events, the site will also be a resource tell our readers where they can find a really tasty burger or casual meal," he added.
Mass Foodies will also continue the mission of Worcester Foodies, a group of non-food professionals that go to a different restaurant each month, write reviews and use social media to share their experiences. "Our food group has visited over 50 different restaurants in Worcester," says Joe Giacobbe, who along with Vaillancourt leads the Worcester Foodies group. "We are excited the group will continue, while also expanding their reach geographically outside the city of Worcester," he continued, offering that the organization isn't tied strictly to Worcester proper. "Worcester may be the heart of the commonwealth, but it doesn't mean the rest of the state doesn't have heart," Vaillancourt added.
In addition to the food content and reviews they develop, Mass Foodies will also create and host a series of exclusive events open to the public and targeted to those who share a common interest in food. The Chef's Best dinner series, for example, gives a Chef the opportunity to “let loose” and create their best meal and experience for an intimate group. A planned Bus Tour will stop at different restaurants to sample food and a new series of dinners paired with different wines, beers and cocktails is set to kick off.
"With Mass Foodies’ launch planned for early 2016, we can expect that this will only further promote the exceptional work of local chefs and restaurateurs have been doing," explained Vaillancourt.
