Massage Envy Vadnais Heights Brings Complimentary Chair Massages to Employees at Local Businesses
Vadnais Heights, MN (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Massage Envy Vadnais Heights kicked off a new initiative last month, helping support health and wellness events at local businesses by offering employees free chair massages. The first of these “Massage Mobs” took place during a blood drive at Vadnais Heights-based I.C. System, and received great feedback from the employees who participated.
Kelly Meyer, a client services representatives at I.C. System, does a lot of data entry in her role, and was excited to have the opportunity to loosen up her arms and shoulders during the workday. “I try to keep ergonomics in the back of my mind,” Meyer said. “[During the massage] I was thinking how glorious it was, and how I neglect myself far too often. It’s a wonderful that I.C. System [wants to] give their employees an opportunity to experience a massage. Just for that five minutes, it’s amazing how much you can de-stress.”
Sales Manager Tom Mayfield knows what his body feels like when he’s starting to get stressed. “I can feel it in my shoulders, in my neck – I get very tense,” he said. That’s why he’s scheduled massages for himself on a regular basis for the past 30 years. “From a physical standpoint and a psychological standpoint, it’s very healthy,” he said.
Because Mayfield is such a firm believer in massage, he was also thankful that I.C. System had brought Massage Envy Vadnais Heights in for the day. “I think if more companies did that, and treated their employees like this there would be a little less stress and more health in the environment,” he said.
“We love being able to get out into the community, and connect with other local business owners,” said Shelli Smith, who is the owner of Massage Envy Vadnais Heights. “We believe that those businesses that are taking steps to improve the health and wellness of their employees are going to have happier and more productive workplaces, and we really enjoy being able to support their efforts through events like these.”
