Mattress Discounter SleepPittsburgh Donating Back to Local Charity to Fight Hunger
Pittsburgh, Pa (PRWEB) July 09, 2015 -- Pittsburgh’s oldest mattress store SleepPittsburgh announced today its sponsorship of the 2015 Pittsburgh Blues Festival coincides with its annual charity give back to the local community. In its quest to fight hunger, the company is donating 5 percent of related purchases to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank through Labor Day.
“It’s the people in our communities who have kept our business thriving for 70 years. We believe in giving back and there’s no better way than fighting hunger in our area,” SleepPittsburgh owner Vincent Snyder said.
The Pittsburgh Blues Festival is the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s largest annual event, raising over $2 million to fight hunger over its 20 years. The festival will be held July 24-26 at Hartwood Acres. The event includes a full line-up of national and local blues music, food and merchandise vendors, and a KidZone. “Most people don’t realize hunger affects one of every seven people in Pennsylvania. The food bank here feeds more than two million people a year, many of whom are senior citizens or kids,” Snyder said.
Customers only need to mention the food bank or the festival and SleepPittsburgh will donate 5 percent of their purchase to the food bank. It will also honor guaranteed lowest prices with free delivery, free setup and free mattress removal for its customers. “This is a tremendous community event. We believe in supporting local charities and giving back to our communities,” Snyder said.
The store has locations in Homestead and the North Hills, with 70 models on display representing a full line of mattress sleep surfaces. SleepPittsburgh, formerly American Buyer’s Discount Mattress, has served Pittsburgh for 70 years. Last month, it launched a rebranding campaign changing its name to SleepPittsburgh to better reflect the company’s historic ties to the local community.
