Mature Services Announces Pending Retirement of CEO
AKRON, OH (PRWEB) December 24, 2014 -- Mature Services announced today that Linda M. Valentine, President/CEO of the organization since 2010 will be retiring effective June 1, 2015. ”The agency has really benefited under Linda’s direction,” said Pam Hawkins, Chair of the Board of Directors. “She has overseen the agency through some difficult economic times, and still managed to not only maintain services but promote growth.”
Valentine has been with the agency since 1988 when she was hired by then President/CEO Edward J. Kaufman, starting out in the accounting department and eventually achieving the position of Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. “While it was a very difficult decision to leave Mature Services, an agency I have dedicated the last 27 years to, I am looking forward to joining my husband in retirement and enjoying the next chapter of my life,” said Valentine. “I feel I am leaving the agency at a high point in its history and am very proud of what the staff and volunteers have accomplished in the last five years as I’ve had the privilege of serving as its President/CEO.”
“A search committee has been formed,” explained Hawkins. “While we are sorry to lose such a capable individual as Linda, we are confident we will find the right person to continue to execute our long-term strategic plan for serving older adults.”
Mature Services provides high-quality programs to empower the economic, social, physical, and mental well-being of adults as they age, and has been serving the community since 1975. Among the services the agency currently offers are employment and training programs, home delivered and congregate meals, homecare services, integrated addiction and mental health services, and volunteer opportunities.
