The couple moved from the East Coast to the West Coast a year ago in hopes of becoming their own bosses and running their own business. Mejias and Uricchio both held careers in radiology, and while Uricchio continues to work as a radiology physician, Mejias has resigned from the job and made Maui Wowi Hawaiian her full time career. Since she is an avid coffee drinker, the couple began researching coffee franchises. When they came across Maui Wowi, they realized that the unique business opportunity was perfect for them.
As approachable and social individuals, the two of them are more than excited to work and interact with people. It’s easy to sell because we believe in the product and it tastes great," said Mejias.
The new California residents have entered into a self-employed way of life that grants them autonomy, flexibility, and the power to be who they are. "The lifestyle of Maui Wowi allows our personalities to come out. We could see almost immediately that this was going to be a great fit and just what we were looking for," said Uricchio.
Mejias is ready to get started and Uricchio has given his full support as they travel a path more suited to their ideal lifestyle. They are excited to be in the San Diego area, exploring all of the opportunities it has to offer.
