Maurice LaBonne Joins NewYork-Presbyterian as Senior Vice President for Facilities and Real Estate
NEW YORK, NEW YORK (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- Maurice LaBonne has been named senior vice president for facilities and real estate at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, effective July 15. Mr. LaBonne joins NewYork-Presbyterian from Hudson Medical Properties, where he served as a senior principal.

Mr. LaBonne specializes in facilities development and operations for healthcare institutions. At Hudson Medical Properties, he was responsible for business development and advisory services, with an emphasis on ambulatory network planning, site search and master planning. Prior to his work at Hudson Medical Properties, he served as a special advisor and member of the NYC Building Resiliency Task Force formed by Mayor Bloomberg in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. In this role, he led discussions with city hospitals and engineering leaders in order to formulate infrastructure guidelines and changes in building codes for hospitals, nursing homes and ambulatory care facilities to protect against future climate-related disasters.
Having spent many years working for area hospitals, he has extensive experience building and developing healthcare facilities in New York City. From 1987-2002, he served as vice president for real estate and facility development at Montefiore Medical Center, where he was instrumental in planning and executing numerous construction and renovation projects. He then joined North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System as the senior vice president of facilities services, where he was responsible for $3 billion of projects under active design and/or construction as of 2012.
Mr. LaBonne earned a B.A. in political science and studied urban planning at New York University. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association, and serves on the board of directors for the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation. He succeeds Sharon Greenberger, who is leaving NewYork-Presbyterian to assume the role of president and CEO of The YMCA of Greater New York.
