May 5th Fiesta Fundraiser for Issaquah Clothing & Food Bank

Issaquah, WA (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- Over the summer months, when children are out of school, food banks across the nation often experience an increase in demand for services while donations decrease. Residents at University House Issaquah, located at 22975 SE Black Nugget Road, are taking action on Monday, May 5th from 5pm – 7pm with their first ever Fiesta Fundraiser to benefit Issaquah Clothing & Food Bank.

To raise money University House Issaquah hosts a Mexican buffet with taco bar and fiesta cocktails for adults. Guests will be serenaded by traditional fiesta music, and can participate in a silent auction and onsite raffle all to benefit Issaquah Clothing & Food Bank.

“In the summer we provide an extra bag of food, each week, for each child,” says Issaquah Clothing & Food Bank Program Coordinator, Rebecca Rayner. “During the school year many families depend on the school lunch program. When summer-break rolls around that daily meal is lost. We help replace school lunch with the additional groceries. That can add up to a big need because every week we serve 400 – 500 families in the greater Issaquah area.”

The public is invited to join University House Issaquah residents for the Fiesta Fundraiser. Tickets for children are $10 each and adult tickets $15. To attend, RSVP to 425-557-4200 by May 1st.

University House Issaquah is accepting donations of needed items in the days leading up to the event. Issaquah Clothing & Food Bank is most in need of canned tuna, jars of jams and jellies, flour, sugar and cooking oils; toiletries including soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste and household items such as dish soap, laundry detergent and basic home cleaning products.
