Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- On Friday, June 13, 2014, Medical Guardian was joined by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter for a ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of their newly renovated space in 1818 Market Street. The Mayor’s visit to Medical Guardian was part of his initiative to support the startup and technology community in Philadelphia.
“Medical Guardian employs a combination of focus on health and wellness while at the same time utilizing technology and innovation to bring it all together,” said Mayor Michael Nutter, addressing the crowd. “It’s really quite unique and we’re very fortunate to have this kind of activity right here in our own city.”
Medical Guardian was also joined by Waverly Coleman, the Executive Director and Assistant Dean of Business and Technology at the Community College of Philadelphia, who presented them with a check for a development and training grant on behalf of the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania.
WedNetPA was established to help companies in Pennsylvania compete locally and globally by developing the personal and professional skills of their employees. They provide specialized training to employees through the Community College of Philadelphia.
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized for the work that we do here everyday at Medical Guardian,” said Medical Guardian CEO, Geoff Gross. “To have the Mayor of Philadelphia christen our new space, and to have this generous grant from WedNetPA, there’s no doubt in my mind that we’re building a strong business for the future.”
