Mayor Unveils New Website Built by 910 West
Gilbert, Arizona (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- 910 West was selected by the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce to build a new website for their Partners in Progress initiative. The goal of Partners in Progress (PIP) is to bring together education and business within the Gilbert, Arizona community. The PIP website enables connections between businesses, teachers looking for presenters and experts in their classrooms, and students looking for internships and opportunities of work experience.
Most businesses feel that their biggest issue is finding qualified workers, and PIP seeks to address this need. Students themselves are frustrated because they are leaving school without the practical skills that potential employers want. The chamber’s PIP program is meant to bring all parties to the table to close the gap, with the website serving as the hub for these valuable community connections.

The core of the new PIP site is a directory for businesses that wish to be available to teachers and students and allows additions from participants. This directory is shared with local schools as a valuable resource, making it easier for everyone to connect. The challenge to 910 West was to build a simple yet dynamic interface that is helpful to the various user groups.
Introduced in 2011, Partners in Progress (PIP) is a Gilbert Chamber of Commerce program designed to facilitate a healthy business environment for the growth, expansion, and retention of businesses. The program was conceptualized under the leadership of strategic foundational partners, including Arizona State University, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and the Town of Gilbert. The Mayor’s forum on WorkForce Readiness and the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce unveiled the website to attendees. Mayor John Lewis impressed upon the audience, “Workforce readiness is a top business concern. Now is the time for businesses to engage with the education community, especially with the increase in rigor. I encourage businesses to help us in this endeavor. In Gilbert, what we do, we do together. Won’t you join us in our efforts?”
910 West also supports the Gilbert Chamber’s workforce initiatives with financial donations, by volunteering in the Student Entrepreneur Institute (SEI), and by participating in business surveys.
