MB Financial Bank Partners with the Federal Reserve for Money Smart Week
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 24, 2017 -- For the 10th consecutive year, MB Financial Bank will participate in the Federal Reserve Bank Money Smart Week campaign, April 24-29. Launched in 2002, Money Smart Week is a public awareness campaign dedicated to helping consumers better manage their personal finances. The program consists of public and private partner organizations offering thousands of free classes, seminars and other educational activities.
“Increasing financial literacy has always been a top priority for MB,” said Karen Thomas, senior vice president, community development, MB Financial Bank. “MB is proud of our ability to meet these community needs, year after year, by providing free resources through partnerships like Money Smart Week.“
During its seminars, MB Financial Bank will cover financial topics such as youth financial literacy, a general overview of banking, managing a checking account and the basics of first time home buying, among others. The organizations partnering with MB to offer these programs include the White Oak Library, C.E. Miller Elementary School, Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry, River Grove Public Library, the Spanish Coalition for Housing, Claretian Associates, Arab American Family Services, Dolton Banking Center, St. Andrews Church, North Lawndale Employment Network and The Resurrection Project (view schedule below).
“Money Smart Week began as a coordinated effort among a small group of Chicagoland organizations working to promote financial literacy,” says Alejo Torres, Senior Outreach Manager, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. “Today, Money Smart Week continues to expand nationally, providing greater awareness of, and access to, personal finance resources for all.”
