MCAT Resource Round-up: Tools for Students Preparing for the New Medical College Admission Test®
Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- In 2015, the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) will begin administering the new Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®), which is designed to help medical schools identify students who are not only academically prepared, but also have the potential to be well-rounded physicians able to provide the best patient care to an increasingly diverse patient population in a changing health care environment. With the administration of the new exam just one year away, the AAMC continues to develop exam preparation resources for aspiring medical students.
The following resources and study tools are available now to help students prepare for the MCAT2015 exam:
• Which Exam Will You Take?: Infographic to help students determine if they will take the current exam (available for students testing between now and January 2015), or the new test (beginning spring 2015).
• MCAT2015 Preview Guide: A blueprint for the new exam, including an overview of the new sections and competencies that will be tested (natural sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and critical analysis and reasoning).
• Khan Academy Pre-health Collection: A library of free tutorials categorized according to pre-health competencies tested by the MCAT2015 exam. Features hundreds of video tutorials and practice questions from the Khan Academy.
• MCAT2015 Frequently Asked Questions: Common questions related to the new MCAT exam content and format, including how to adjust studying and preparation, and more.
• AAMC.org/MCAT2015: General information and resources for students.
The AAMC will be releasing additional resources later this year, including a full-length sample test, as well as a new version of The Official Guide to the MCAT® Exam (MCAT2015), which will include the option for online practice and other need-to-know information for students.
