San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces two one-day events for sourcing, outsourcing and procurement professionals taking place June 9, 2014. Both events boast keynote presentations, buy-side peer forums, panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities.
SIG’s Regional Roundtable in Chicago is being hosted at the McDonald’s headquarters and will include a case study on McDonald’s as well as a presentation on Contracting for “SMAC” (Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud), an important item in the world of Big Data. The day’s agenda also includes an executive buy-side panel with speakers from CME Group, McDonald’s USA and Discover as well as a buy-side peer-to-peer discussion and networking happy hour.
Simultaneously, SIG is holding a Symposium in Toronto, hosted by BMO Financial Group. This full-day event includes multiple networking opportunities, buy-side-only discussions and expert presentations on topics ranging from risk management to value creation to outsourcing to addressable spend. Speakers come from companies such as TD Bank, Ryerson University, Osler’s Technology Group and Public Mobile. The day kicks off with a buy-side live peer-to-peer, includes an executive panel discussion and concludes with a networking reception.
“I’m excited to see the topics at both of these events, which mirror the issues we hear are prevalent among our members,” says SIG CEO and President Dawn Evans. “The presentation on Contracting for ‘SMAC’ in our Chicago event is both timely and relevant. More and more we hear our members share the challenges they are facing with Big Data. It is exciting to see content geared towards overcoming some of those issues.”
“I love seeing the delegates really connect with a topic,” adds Stephani McGarry, SIG Senior Director of Global Events. “SIG events encourage the sharing of best practices, and applying something from one industry to another opens new ways of thinking.”
SIG Regional Roundtables and Symposiums bring together executives from Global 1000 and Fortune 500 companies to network and discuss issues and best practices in sourcing, procurement, outsourcing, offshoring, and nearshoring. Over the course of these one-day events, senior buy-side executives from different industries share successes and failures, engage in open dialogues and address challenges faced by sourcing and outsourcing executives.
