McPherson Architecture Moves Antero Resources to Center Stage at One Union Station
Denver CO (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- Antero Resources Corporation has moved to the top four floors at One Union Station, the new five-story, 110,000 square foot office building developed by East/West Partners and designed by AMD Architects. The building also features ground level retail which is fully leased. Designed by McPherson Architecture, the offices anchor the south end of Union Station Plaza, the centerpiece in the Union Station Redevelopment Project.
"Antero is a relatively new, but fast growing energy company which went public last year," said architect Mark McPherson AIA of McPherson Architecture in Denver, CO. The company had grown to occupy a series of small, turn-of-the-century buildings in LoDo, and as the company grew, they urgently needed to bring their staff together in one place. “One Union Station presented the perfect opportunity to design a productive office environment with an eye to the future for their rapidly growing business. Union Station is fast becoming the new center of downtown Denver and the region, and Antero Resources is center-stage in one of two buildings that front the Union Station Plaza."
To highlight the focus of the company, McPherson was tasked with creating a geological theme that spoke to the Earth, its strata and the valuable resources within. "Our goal was to create an environment that expressed the energetic spirit of the company and provided all of the amenities that people need for a productive day," he said. "The project has a central atrium with spiral stairs that connect four levels of office space and facilitate communication between departments. The stair symbolizes the “coming together” of its people in one place, and the atrium is topped with a large skylight that highlights a photo mural of rock formations by geologist and landscape photographer, Robert Mueller, and fabricated by Reed Art & Imaging."
