Panellists will debate the Indian business community’s responsibility to Indian society. Representatives from Oxford University, Indian business, civil society and government will jointly explore: what responsibility means; the role of business in economies and society and; how that role will be defined under the new government and under recent legislation.

Professor Colin Mayer is an expert on all aspects of corporate finance, governance and taxation, and the regulation of financial institutions. Colin’s highly-regarded book Firm Commitment: Why the Corporation is Failing Us and How to Restore Trust in It, explores the notion of responsibility in corporations.
Professor Tarun Ramadorai has expert knowledge on the Indian economy, asset pricing, international finance, hedge funds, and household finance. He is a regular contributor to the media in India with a column in Mint.
Dr Janet Smart’s areas of expertise include big data, systems engineering, complex systems, big science projects, and programme management.
Dr Felix Reed-Tsochas explores the impact of the explosion of social media and mobile phone usage, and other technologies that capture human interactions and transactions.
Professor David Upton is a leading expert on the integration of information technology and operations management to provide competitive advantage and on cyber security. David warns that internal cyber-attacks against companies are an increasing threat that costs tens of billions of dollars a year worldwide, can destroy companies, and sink the careers of many senior executives.
Professor Peter Tufano, Dean of Saïd Business School said: “For the last seven years, Oxford University has organised this business event in India bringing together eminent individuals to discuss timely and important issues.
