Mediation.com Welcomes Attorney and Conflict Management Specialist Meredith Richardson
Eliot, ME (PRWEB) December 23, 2013 -- After almost two decades of practice in law and conflict management, Meredith Richardson has announced her membership in Mediation.com. This move is the most recent among her strategies in establishing her online profile and expanding her potential client base.
The goal of Richardson’s work is to have all sides of a dispute engage in discussion. She works to help all sides feel supported and empowered, so everyone can gain a clear understanding of all sides of an issue. Richardson’s advice to individuals and businesses: “Don't wait until the conflict is so great that the only possible option seems to be litigation. Fix the problem when it starts. Get a mediator involved to help with the conflict.”
Richardson began practicing law in 1994 and quickly learned her clients were capable of defending their positions, but lacked the ability to get along. Feeling that her role was limited to helping people fight, she turned to mediation as a way to aid clients in finding a gentler, more long-term solution. She practices transformative mediation, which puts the mediator in the position to follow instead of lead. In addition to mediation, coaching and training services, she also works as a collaborative lawyer in Maine and New Hampshire. She specializes in family and business law, aiding in the resolution of conflicts, as an alternative to litigation.
Richardson is also a motivational speaker, Midlife Coach, and creator of retreats at Star Island. She earned her BA in Russian, with a minor in French, from the University of Pennsylvania received her law degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1994.
