Owings Mills, M.D., (PRWEB) March 03, 2014 -- Medifast, Inc. (NYSE: MED), a leading United States manufacturer and provider of clinically proven, portion-controlled weight-loss products and programs, is proud to announce that its President and Chief Operating Officer, Meg Sheetz, has been named to The Daily Record’s 2014 list of Top 100 Women.
Launched in 2006, The Daily Record’s Top 100 Women recognizes outstanding achievement by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.
“Meg’s exceptional leadership at Medifast, as well as her drive and dedication with multiple community and professional boards, inspires those around her. Meg‘s creative management vision has helped fuel growth at Medifast,” said Mike MacDonald, Chairman & CEO of Medifast. “We congratulate Meg on receiving this prestigious award and for her dedication to the local Baltimore community.”
Sheetz’s leadership across all areas of the Medifast organization has resulted in Medifast’s significant growth over the past ten years. Serving the Maryland community, Sheetz is an active Board Member on the Greater Baltimore Committee, Stevenson University Board of Directors, Siloam Board of Directors and Villanova University President’s Leadership Circle. Sheetz was also honored as a 2013 Leading Women award winner by The Daily Record and was named a 2011 Baltimore SmartCXO from SmartCEO Magazine.
Three hundred and seventy women were nominated for the statewide honor this year. A panel of judges comprised of business professionals and past Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners from throughout Maryland reviewed the applications and selected this year’s honorees. In 2014, 63 women are first-time recipients and fifteen women will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence.
“Through Maryland’s Top 100 Women, The Daily Record recognizes 100 amazing leaders for stellar achievements in their careers, for their exemplary citizenship and for encouraging and shaping the lives of a younger generation through mentoring,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “These women share an amazing talent for balancing many facets of their lives. And we’re pretty certain they mastered what we all desire—the ability to get 25 hours of daily work done in an allotted 24.”
Each of the 2014 Top 100 Women will be honored on Monday May 5, at a reception at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, MD. Honorees will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the Friday, May 9, issue of The Daily Record and available online at http://www.TheDailyRecord.com.
