Mediware Completes Both SOC 2 and SOC 3 Security Audits
Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- Mediware Information Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of software for healthcare providers and human service organizations, completed multiple Service Organization Controls (SOC) audits for its software and infrastructure. In 2015, the company achieved SOC 2 Type 1 certification and, more recently, both SOC 2 Type 2 and SOC 3. These certifications provide validation that Mediware’s processes, procedures, and controls meet or exceed the stringent criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
SOC is an internationally recognized auditing standard, the examinations for which included meticulous testing of various controls, such as network connectivity, firewall configuration, secure software development life cycle, computer operations, database access, data transmissions, backup, disaster recovery, and physical security. The successful completion of these arduous voluntary processes affirms Mediware’s commitment to security, confidentiality, availability, privacy, and processing integrity for all its healthcare customers.
“In today’s environment, SaaS users must demand independently verified controls for all their sensitive data. Because we successfully met the requirements for both SOC 2 certifications as well as SOC 3, our customers can be confident that their hosted and processed data is secure,” said Mediware’s Executive Vice President Rob Weber.
Mediware’s portfolio of healthcare and human services systems currently includes long-term services and supports, blood management, cellular therapy, home care, medication management, rehabilitation, and respiratory therapy.
