Medstreaming Announces Launch of Cardiovascular Information System at Southcoast Health
Redmond, WA (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- Medstreaming, a leading medical informatics company, is announcing the successful implementation of its integrated enterprise Cardiovascular Information System (CVIS) at Southcoast Health. Southcoast Health, which includes four hospitals – St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Tobey Hospital in Wareham and Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth - two Urgent Care Centers, and over 400 physicians in offices across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as the Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), will be utilizing this new, state-of-art, information technology in all outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular settings.
“We were searching for a cardiovascular information systems vendor who could help us leverage the $100 million dollar investment we have made in our new electronic health record system,” said Michael Hyder, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer for Southcoast Health and Chief Medical Officer for Southcoast Physicians Group. “We chose Medstreaming because of its industry expertise and innovative approach to CVIS, as well as their ability to tightly integrate with our new enterprise EHR.”
Medstreaming’s implementation includes the deployment of its proprietary structured reporting gateway technology, which allows seamless integration of over 100 imaging modalities and medical devices. This gateway technology enables the automatic transfer of all images and discrete measurement information into the CVIS reporting engine. In addition, Southcoast Health is utilizing Medstreaming’s imaging pipeline to manage all of its cardiovascular DICOM images throughout the enterprise. Medstreaming’s innovative integrated solution also eliminates the barriers which have historically existed between enterprise cardiovascular workflow and enterprise electronic medical records.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the visionary leadership within the Southcoast Health System,” said Medstreaming’s chief executive officer, Wael Elseaidy. “This revolutionary CVIS and EMR ecosystem provides a unified cardiovascular workflow allowing clinicians to finally realize the benefits of navigating the entire patient record without having to enter and exit separate, disparate applications. This is a fundamental shift in productivity for the cardiovascular community.”
In addition, Southcoast Health will be adopting Medstreaming Graphic Fusion Workflow ™ (GFW). Graphic Fusion Workflow is fundamentally a digital convergence of the functionality of traditional table based exam worksheets and the anatomical context and improved efficiency provided by sketches. Through DICOM structured reporting, measurements are auto-populated to appropriate locations within the anatomical digital sketch. A major component of GFW is bi-directional communication between the table and the sketch, with textual input into the table prompting graphical input into the sketch and vice versa. All input data resides in a clinical and minable database.
“Our GFW technology is a real game changer in the CVIS industry,” said Elseaidy. “Hospitals and physician offices need workflow to more efficiently aggregate, organize, visualize, and report clinical data. We have created a universal graphical interface which simplifies the communication of complex medical information allowing for better communication between clinicians and allowing for better communication with patients. Together, this is having a positive impact on patient care and improving patient satisfaction for the health organization.”
About Medstreaming
Many challenges confront the medical industry due to an extremely fragmented data management structure. To address this fragmentation, Medstreaming created a Specialty-Based Radiology, Vascular, Cardiovascular, and Women’s Health Workflow Application which functions as a high performance layer in the inpatient workflow on top of inpatient electronic medical records (EMR). Using this clinical workflow expertise, Medstreaming has also developed the industry’s first “All in One” integrated platform application that runs as an outpatient EMR, image management & reporting, and practice management workflow solution. All Medstreaming solutions act as an aggregator for structuring clinical data which in turn creates powerful data service offerings for multi-purpose, web based, data mining and data analytics. Medstreaming is headquartered in Redmond, WA. For more information, visit http://www.medstreaming.com.
