Megan Winsor Didn't Get "Caught Up" in High School, She Wrote a Few Songs About it That Paved Her Way into Berklee College of Music
BOSTON, Oct. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- With the thousands of applications these Music Colleges receive each semester, it begs the question "how do artists make themselves stand out from the crowd and get that acceptance letter?"
"Nobody is going to work harder for you then you will for yourself. If you want it bad enough you will determine your end goal, and hustle harder than everyone and anyone you know to make that goal a reality!" - Megan Winsor
Having god given talent is one of the easiest way to get into a credible Academy, but moreso is the drive and passion to accompany that gift. Those nights Megan spent locked in her room with headphones drowning out all other sounds as she rehearsed her next cover for YouTube, or those after school beach days she gave up with friends to build a 3 hour set list of various decade hits and originals, is paying off sooner than expected.
Only 13 months into Artist Development, working alongside Artist Manager/ Consultant Dani Thompson of DNT Entertainment, Megan has cultivated an organic following of over 35,000 music lovers and supporters on some of the largest trending social media platforms to date. In addition to her social media hustle, she spent at least a day every week in the studio at OC Hit Factory, cataloging her originals and covers in effort to further develop her voice and songwriting abilities.
Some of her recent collaborations with Artists such as Lauren Black (June 2017 MTV Cover of The Month Winner), and Jason Farol (Semi-Finalist ABC's Duets), have received amazing feedback and have turned the heads of Reality Vocal Competitions, Record Label Executives and Grammy Award Winning Mixer/Engineer/ Producer Phil Allen (Adele's 21 Album). Phil went on to not only produced Megan's new single "Caught Up," which was released under DNT Entertainment on August 18, 2017, but he also appeared in the accompanying music video which will launch her Vevo channel on Friday, October 20,2017.
"At this point, I want people to know what I am capable of, and what my songwriting is capable of. I'm excited to finally release my new original music which I can't wait for you all to hear! "- Megan Winsor
"Caught Up" underwent extensive crowd review feedback before it made it's way to production with Phil. The fan's played a big role in this process and Megan is grateful for their contributions and involvement in the development of this project. This new sound can not be described as the next something, but rather the first of it's kind. With Top 40 alternative and acoustic pop influences from artists such as Zella Day, Aurora, Lorde and Elle King, it's safe to assume Megan's music can be found intermingled or alongside these or similar spotify and pandora playlists.
"Megan set realistic goals for herself, and checked projects off the list every day which helped her get one step closer to that end goal, which I am so proud to have been there to witness her achieve." - Dani Thompson
With a growing catalog of over 30 original unproduced singles, it's safe to say she has content not only for herself, but maybe even for other aspiring artists who struggle to translate their feelings into words. As a gifted songwriter, it won't be long before you hear a Megan Winsor song in a television show, film, or on the radio which is one of the next boxes she will soon check off her list.
