Melissa Manchester Tickets on Sale Now for The Jackson Symphony’s 21st Annual Legend Benefit Concert
Jackson, TN (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- Tickets are on sale now for The Jackson Symphony’s 21st Annual Legend Benefit Concert. Melissa Manchester and her conductor, Peter Hume from Los Angeles, will join The Jackson Symphony on Friday, November 1 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center as she offers her audience a fascinatingly eclectic program which pays homage to her many collaborators, among them Carole Bayer Sager, Burt Bacharach, Marvin Hamlisch, Kenny Loggins and Peter Allen.
Melissa Manchester emerged onto the popular American music scene as a singer/songwriter in 1975 with her hit single Midnight Blue. She went on to collaborate with other American vocalists producing some of the most memorable and compelling music in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Some of her hits include: Don’t Cry Out Loud, Through the Eyes of Love (the theme from Ice Castles) and You Should Hear How She Talks About You, for which she won a Grammy for Best Female Vocalist. In 1980 she became the first artist in the history of the Academy Awards to have two nominated movie themes in a given year.

Currently, with Leona Lewis' rendition of Melissa's I Know Who I Am in trailers for the popular movie, The Butler, as well as Melissa's own current indiegogo campaign, and her songs being featured in the indie film hit Dirty Girl, there's a new era of fans out there.
Melissa and Kenny Loggins co-wrote the radio classic Whenever I Call You Friend, and her songs have been recorded by Barbra Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Alison Krauss, Roberta Flack, Johnny Mathis, Kathy Mattea, Peabo Bryson, Cleo Laine, Barbara Cook and Mel Torme, among many others.
This Legend concert is not included in any season subscription. Please join Manchester in a brilliant performance with The Jackson Symphony to benefit education and community outreach programs. Tickets, including priority floor seating and the Benefit reception/dinner at 5:30 p.m., are available. Floor and balcony seating is available without the Benefit reception/dinner option. Ticket prices range from $30 to $250. The balcony is assigned seating, not general admission. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tenn.
