Melissa Nelson, State Attorney Elect, To Deliver Keynote Speech at Year Up Jacksonville Graduation Ceremony
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- Celebrating the hard work and determination of its newest graduating class, Year Up Jacksonville announced today that Melissa Nelson will deliver the keynote address at its Class 3 graduation ceremony. Nelson recently was elected state attorney for Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit and takes office Jan. 3.
The graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 15th at 11:00 AM, in the Downtown Auditorium located at Florida State College Jacksonville’s downtown campus at 101 West State Street. The event is open to the public; please RSVP to Richard Naylor at [email protected].

Year Up Jacksonville is a nonprofit job-training program that launched in January 2015 in partnership with Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). Year Up students spend one semester gaining technical and professional skills, followed by a full-time, credit-bearing internship at a top local company. They can then complete their associate’s degree the following year. Ninety-four percent of Year Up Jacksonville’s Class 3 graduates are either employed or attending college full-time, with average starting salaries of $17.32/hour.
