This Mellow sports a clean, sleek and contemporary yet warm and inviting design, full of intriguing art, which invites guests to explore the interior and seek out conversation pieces.
Every Mellow is individually owned and operated. Mellow Mushroom Lakeland is owned by Jon and Jenifer Leonard. Asked what inspired him to open this Mellow, Jon responds, “About two years ago we decided to start a family, and at that time I was not familiar with Mellow. I overheard my pregnant wife planning a baby shopping day where she was prioritizing locations in Tampa and Orlando due to proximity to a Mellow Mushroom. As a scientist I was intrigued–what is Mellow Mushroom? Once we started down the mellow path, we knew that forever it would dominate our destiny. The local community has embraced our science fiction themed Mellow—prepare for transport.”
Mellow Mushroom’s menu showcases natural flavors and the freshest of ingredients in a creative menu assortment of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, appetizers and vegetarian and vegan options. Gluten free crust and a kids menu are also available.
All Mellow Mushrooms are known as places that provide an entertaining experience in a unique, artistically decorated environment, and this one is no exception. Mellow Mushroom of Lakeland is a fantastical experience. Where else can you find Neil Diamond in space?
Hand painted murals by artist Trent Call are simply amazing. Everything was done by hand with spray paint. Science fiction has been brought to life on the walls. It is only logical that it was time for a Vulcan to meet the Jazz Singer.
For anyone who would like a photo op, our custom mushroom character statues are a further homage to science fiction. They have been modified and decorated to remind guests of some of their favorite sci-fi pop culture.
The centerpiece of the dining room is the Mellow Lantern Corps. Every day and every night, no pepperoni shall escape their sight. Let those who love cheesy delight enjoy some pizza, in Mellow Mushroom’s light.
The full service bar features an extensive wine list and fresh, handcrafted cocktails, local and regional craft brews as well as the more popular commercial brands.
Activities abound. Catch all sorts of sports action on any of the 10 TVs. After some time Mellow will host Trivia, Family Night, Happy Hour and Spirit Nights. There is also a semi-private area that can accommodate up to 30 guests. The floorplan is also set up for larger groups with several party booths.
