Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is Now Open in New Albany, Ohio
New Albany, Ohio (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is now open in New Albany, Ohio, at 260 Market St. Suite A. This Mellow serves up handcrafted, gourmet pizzas and craft beers, with the rustic feel of a glammed up historic lodge, like visiting a psychedelic cabin in the woods.
Owners Colby and Jon Zachrich felt a connection with New Albany and wanted to bring Mellow, which has been expanding in the Columbus area, to this exciting and popular neighborhood. Say the Zachrichs, “We have always wanted a location in the New Albany area and this spot met our interests when we were approached with the opportunity.”
Mellow Mushroom’s menu showcases natural flavors and the freshest of ingredients in a creative menu, featuring an assortment of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones and appetizers, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. A gluten free crust and a kids menu are also available.
The exterior exudes an antique charm with small town old-fashioned signage, and the bucolic interior offers whimsical surprises throughout. The inside is trimmed with reclaimed wood that gives it the feel of visiting someone’s grandparents’ old barn. Lewis Carroll’s White Rabbit waves his pocket watch from behind a fence. Adding filtered, colored light to the scene, stained glass transoms surmount the doorways.
And speaking of doors, the dining area features a community style table built from reclaimed wood and antique doors that in turn pays tribute to the band The Doors. A large tree sprawls in the middle of the dining room. The discerning eye will spot through its branches magical elements that turn the space into an enchanted forest: a statuette of a sorcerer casting his spell towards the illustrated mountains or an upside-down canoe suspended as a chandelier from the ceiling by the powers of Wizard, one of Mellow’s animated mascots.
From there the exciting juxtaposition of nature and absurdist elements continues. The walls are painted with happy pine trees and rainbows. A rainbow moose head adds a punch of humor to the stacked rock, ceiling high fireplace with timbered mantle. No worries—no moose was harmed in the making of this art piece. Wooden totems stand as guideposts and protectors.
Mellow Mushroom's mission is to provide delicious food in a fun and creative environment. The layout of this store is ideal for entertainment. There is an inviting wraparound bar, and there are several TVs for local and national professional sports as well as for the local college team. If desired, Mellow provides a semi private dining area, available for parties or meetings. Depending on the set up of the room, the space can accommodate up to 45.
The full service bar features a wide array of craft beers, an extensive wine list and fresh handcrafted cocktails.
