McKinney, Texas (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers will open in McKinney, Texas, on Monday, September 23, at 218 E. Louisiana St., Suite 101, in the Historic Downtown area, directly across from Doug & Lynda’s Ski Shop.
Owners Martha and Monte Jensen and Luis and Monica Gonzalez are eager to bring Mellow to one of the hottest destinations in McKinney. “McKinney provides all of the makings for a perfect Mellow Mushroom experience: between the creative and repurposed architecture and artwork and the yearlong entertaining atmosphere, Mellow Mushroom could not be in a better niche,” says Martha. “With the high quality food, fun ambiance and unique product line, the McKinney community is in for a real treat,” adds Luis.
Known for its handcrafted pizzas, Mellow Mushroom features a creative menu with an assortment of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, appetizers and vegetarian and vegan options, using only the freshest ingredients. Gluten-free crust and a kids menu are also available.
A half step off of the town square in a newly repurposed vintage building, this Mellow will take you on a road trip through time, reclaiming pieces of history along the way. Honoring the heritage and festivities of the town, this Mellow invites curiosity with neon and character images busting through the walls. The entire sidewalk façade opens to a covered patio with the added surprise of a second row of doors creating seating flexibility and atmosphere both inside and outside.
The decor of the store further honors the town by reflecting on the various mercantile occupants the building has hosted over the years. Gas pump wall lights, packing crate chandeliers and an oil barrel repurposed as the back bar are just a few pieces constructed from reclaimed materials from the building itself. Rounding out the Mellow flavor are interior and exterior brick murals, secret rooms for private parties, and Zen-inspired design throughout. This Mellow is sure to be the ideal destination on a weekend adventure or a relaxing fix for the perfect weeknight.
Be entertained by live music on select evenings, sporting events on several televisions and a full service bar with ever changing craft beers sure to please those with an experimental palate. In addition to the unique design and flavorful menu, happy hour is available Monday-Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring half off specials on Munchies and bar drinks.
