Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers to Open in Memphis, Tennessee, on Monday, September 30
Memphis, TN (PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers will open in Memphis, Tennessee, on Monday, September 30, at 5138 Park Avenue, in the parking lot of the Eastgate Shopping Center at the corner of Park Avenue and White Station.
Owners Cary and Lori Fairless and Andy Harvey are anxious to bring Mellow to Memphis. “Mellow Mushroom and Memphis provide a great combination of the perfect location and an exciting atmosphere,” states Cary. “We have had a lot of citizens in the community ask us for years to bring Mellow to Memphis, and we could not be happier to follow through with this exciting new location,” states Lori.
Known for its handcrafted pizzas, Mellow Mushroom features a creative menu with an assortment of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, appetizers and vegetarian and vegan options, using only the freshest ingredients. Gluten free crust and a kids menu are also available.
Recently converted from a bank to the newest Mellow in the collection, this highly modern mid ‘60s structure in the round has creatively become what can best be described as a visitor from outer space. Upon entering the Mellow, classic sci-fi and space travel become commonplace as you explore the surroundings. The featured atrium, a beacon to passersby outside, glows with color changing meteor showers as a backdrop to a 20 foot rocket entering the earth’s atmosphere at the reigns of Mel, the iconic Mellow Mushroom mascot, straddling the metal clad form.
Backdrops inspired by famous cinema recreated in mellow style anchor the room as a focus and draw from the front door. Exploring further, you can’t miss the bar complete with color changing lighting on reflective metal space age surfaces along with retro styled stools and clear acrylic rockets flanking the beer tap display. Shadow boxes with ray guns and robots, murals of space travel and fighter ships disguised as pizza slices follow. Next you see a carbonate Dude mascot, rocket clad statues and a close up photo op of a space ship out of a dream.
Be entertained by live music and trivia on select evenings, sporting events on several televisions and a full service bar with ever changing craft beers sure to please those with an experimental palate.
