Merging Yoga and Health Care: Fostering a New Vision in the Yoga Community
(PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- Integrated Health Yoga Therapy (http://www.ihyt.org/) is seeking like-minded yoga professionals who share a vision of merging yoga and health care, with a new program in 2014 rewarding yoga studios and/or teachers with up to $350 for referring their students to IHYT training programs.
As modern medicine expands its horizons and increases cooperation with traditional and alternative methods of healing, new career possibilities are being created. Yoga therapy is one of the leaders in this movement, as evidence-based scientific studies continue to come out supporting yoga’s health benefits, and health professionals are increasingly willing to recommend yoga therapy to their patients.
Tomorrow’s yoga professionals looking for work beyond or in addition to teaching yoga classes can find rewarding new opportunities within yoga therapy’s broad range of applications, treating conditions such as heart disease, low back pain, osteoarthritis, anxiety, depression, obesity, diabetes, cancer, trauma, addiction, and grief.
With rigor, joy, and compassion, Integrated Health Yoga Therapy lays down the fundamentals for aspiring yoga therapists and builds a platform of excellence from which to access such exciting opportunities to restore, renew, and heal. Students will appreciate IHYT’s organized curriculum, faculty made up of leaders in their fields (http://www.ihyt.org/#!faculty/cjg9), and integration of ‘scientific’ evidence-based mind-body techniques with ‘subtle’ energy-based and time-honoured yoga therapy practices
Students at IHYT will expand on yoga’s therapeutic nature, learning specific applications of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation practices, and how to tailor each to specific health conditions. Considerations such as diet, lifestyle, and other physical limitations are combined with a comprehensive knowledge of modern physiotherapy practices to create highly individualized programs for specific patients.
The specific IHYT referral program rewards will be $350 for full tuitions, and $200 for per/semester tuitions referrals. For options and availability, check out the IHYT program list at http://www.ihyt.org/#!programs/cnnj and our calendar at http://www.ihyt.org/#!calendar/c1ke7.
