Mesothelioma Survivor’s Unique Approach to Treatment is Subject of New Surviving Mesothelioma Article
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 27, 2016 -- A 72-year man with malignant pleural mesothelioma says his personal search for alternative treatments has kept him alive for twice as long as expected. His story is the subject of a new Surviving Mesothelioma article. Click here to read the full story now.
Jim McHutchison was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma in 2013 and told he had less than a year to live. But he refused to accept that prognosis and instead vowed to look for better mesothelioma treatment options.
“I am blessed with a curious mind and I have never stopped reading, asking, talking and trying to find answers,” Jim says. “I believe that if I seek knowledge, I’ll gain wisdom. I’ll take my own good advice to the bank!”
Jim’s search led him to a nutritional therapy called Budwig’s Protocol which he has been consuming for more than three years. He is also on the immunotherapy drug Keytruda.
“Because there is no cure for mesothelioma, patients can get the impression that there is no hope,” says Alex Strauss, Managing Editor of Surviving Mesothelioma. “But Jim’s story is proof that being curious and not giving up really can pay off.”
