Metal Bands Performing Benefit Show for Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation on Sat. Feb. 28
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 22, 2015 -- The 3rd Annual Metal Against Cancer Benefit Show is coming up on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the 120 Tavern & Music Hall in Marietta, GA, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The benefit show has been organized each year by Jon Bodan, who is guitarist for the metal band Halcyon Way and a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with lymphoma at age 33 in 2010 (his cancer is now in full remission following a stem cell transplant). Proceeds from the show go to the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation, an Atlanta-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to adult cancer patients in the Metro Atlanta area during treatment and recovery. The two previous shows raised more than $10,000 for the organization. Bodan is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation.
In addition to Halcyon Way, the show will feature headliner Death Angel, Uberstout, Rigorism, Bishop Lake, Killing Grace, and the Cherry Bombs.
Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation grants are used to help patients “bridge the gap” when their finances are impacted by the cost of cancer treatment, which is often compounded by lost wages; funds are used to help with rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, insurance premiums, or prescription medications, among other expenses.
