MGO Launches “Jeans for Meals” Program to Help Fight Hunger with the Cleveland Food Bank
Beachwood, OH (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- Retirement and asset management firm MGO, Inc., today is launching its “Jeans for Meals” campaign to fight hunger in the Cleveland region. The fundraising drive will last through the entirety of 2015 and will raise money to provide meals to hungry Ohio residents through the Cleveland Food Bank and Harvest for Hunger.
Through MGO’s “Jeans for Meals” initiative, MGO employees who wish to wear jeans to the office can contribute to the fundraiser drive. In addition, MGO will be soliciting additional donations via various events and campaigns throughout 2015. MGO’s goal for 2015 is $6,250, or roughly 25,000 meals. Anyone who wishes to donate directly to the campaign can contribute through the campaign page http://www.greaterclevelandfoodbank.org/virtual-food-drive/drives/2015/02/jeans-for-meals
MGO’s efforts will run in conjunction with the Harvest for Hunger awareness campaign; Harvest for Hunger’s goal is to raise awareness of hunger in the Ohio region, and encourage contributions to several local food banks. According to Harvest for Hunger, one in six Ohioans struggle to provide food for themselves or their families. For children, that number increases to one in four.
MGO’s contributions will go directly to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. The food bank connects individuals with meals, and is the largest food relief organization in the Northeastern Ohio region. Last year, they provided 45 million meals to hungry individuals. The food bank allows individuals and organizations to create fundraisers and directly collect and track donations through the website.
“As a financial management firm, we’ve been very fortunate in connecting with those who are able to take control of their financial future,” said Ron Gross, CEO of MGO. “The goal with this campaign is to positively impact our local communities, and improve the lives of people who aren’t as fortunate. When you don’t have to worry about your next meal, you can concentrate on other things to improve your situation.”
Through a similar campaign last year, MGO raised over $6,000 for Drop in the Bucket, a nonprofit organization that provides clean water to communities in sub-Saharan Africa. This year, the goal is to surpass that fundraising milestone.
