Miami VA Presents 3rd Annual Community Mental Health Summit
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) August 26, 2015 -- The Miami VA Healthcare System will present a community mental health summit, “Sustaining Our Joint Commitment to Improve the Mental Health of Veterans and Their Families” on Thursday, August 27, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Bruce W. Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1201 NW 16th Street, T.C. Doherty Auditorium (2nd Floor), Miami, Florida.
The third annual summit provides an opportunity to sustain and enhance the positive working relationships and joint vision established last year in order to better address the mental health care needs of Veterans and their families. Creating a more collaborative environment between local and national agencies whose missions include helping Veterans and their families residing in Florida’s Miami‐Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties with programs and resources available to them. The Mental Health Summit will bring together key stakeholders in the community with the goal of exploring the mental healthcare needs of Veterans and family members, discovering existing treatment options and resources available to Veterans in the area, and partnering to enhance access to mental health services for South Florida’s Veterans.
