Michael P. Cogan Receives Distinguished Service Award by JMLS Alumni Association
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- Michael P. Cogan – partner with the Chicago law firm Cogan & Power, P.C. – recently received the Distinguished Service Award by the Alumni Association of the John Marshall Law School (JMLS).
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding achievement in a career field or personal endeavor. Recipients were honored for significant achievement in their chosen career, as well as sharing their time and talents at the law school; supporting JMLS students, alumni, faculty, and staff; and reflecting the values that are a part of the law school’s tradition, heritage, and mission.

A successful trial lawyer, Michael P. Cogan has received the highest possible peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been named one of the top 100 attorneys in Illinois by the Leading Lawyer Network, and has been inducted into the prestigious American Trial Lawyers Association as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in the nation. He is co-chairperson of the Medical Negligence Committee of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), the largest group of attorneys in Illinois representing victims of personal injury, medical negligence, and product liability. He also serves on the Board of Governors of ITLA.
Moreover, he is an invited member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the exclusive Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Network of Leading American Attorneys. He is also an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, and Illinois State Bar Association. He will teach Trial Advocacy at JMLS in the fall of 2015.
A featured speaker at legal and medical seminars throughout the country, Cogan contributes articles frequently to legal publications, including a bi-monthly column in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, “Cogan’s Corner.”
