Michigan Auto Law’s new interactive Roundabout Resource Center helps drivers locate and navigate new traffic circles
Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) December 10, 2015 -- Like them or not, roundabouts are here to stay in Michigan. In fact, eight high-traffic intersections were modified into roundabouts in 2015, with several more slated for years to come, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
To notify drivers of new roundabouts and help them navigate safely through these novel intersections, which often have a learning curve and more fender benders after new construction, attorney Steven Gursten of Farmington Hills-based Michigan Auto Law has developed the Michigan Roundabout Resource Center.
“Since there are more low-impact motor vehicle accidents in roundabouts, especially in the beginning as motorists learn to navigate them, our attorneys have put together this resource center to help drivers,” said Gursten, lead trial attorney of Michigan Auto Law and president of the national Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers Association.
The Roundabout Resource Center includes:
• An interactive map listing all of the current Michigan roundabouts,
• Proposed Michigan roundabouts by MDOT,
• Legal advice on determining fault in a roundabout car accident,
• Information on vehicle damage reimbursement when a roundabout car accident does occur,
• Safety tips for navigating a roundabout, and
• Instructional roundabout videos.
Gursten added that 27% of all of the motor vehicle accidents in Michigan occur at roundabout intersections.
“Many people don’t like roundabouts, and there is a good reason for this as drivers learn how to adjust to them, but roundabouts reduce the risk of serious personal injury from a car accident,” he said.
