Micron Optics Announces Major Product Expansions to its HYPERION Platform
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 25, 2015 -- Micron Optics, Inc., a global leading innovator and provider of fiber optic sensing systems and tunable laser technology, today announces two major expansions to the HYPERION platform of optical sensing instrumentation.
First, available today is the si155: a 4-channel offering of the x55 instrument technology. The si155 carries ALL of the capabilities of its industry leading 16-channel si255 counterpart, including:
• 160nm scanning range with 1pm absolute accuracy at 1kHz speed
• Simultaneous delivery of both 1 kHz peak data and 10 Hz calibrated full optical spectrum for static and dynamic measurements
• Programmable real-time peak detection to enabling versatile measurements of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG), Long Period FBG and Fabry-Perot (FP) sensors
• Fanless, rugged, robust, field deployable package. Based on swept wavelength laser with over 100 million hours logged
The new si155 instrument makes these operational features available to users in a lower priced, reduced power consumption, lighter weight, smaller footprint, 4-channel package. The HYPERION platform leads the optical sensing world in its combination of speed, precision, and sensor capacity.
Micron Optics is also announcing today that the entire HYPERION instrumentation platform, including the si255 and the new si155, will be fully ENLIGHT software compatible. ENLIGHT is a freely-distributed Sensing Analysis Software package that provides a single suite of tools for data acquisition, computation, and analysis of optical sensor networks. Thousands of customers and their applications have benefitted from the broad functionality, ease of use, and industry leading stability of the ENLIGHT software package.
“The combined functionality of this hardware and software pairing completes the state-of-the-art toolkit that users need to build high performance, high reliability, and cost effective optical sensor monitoring and control systems,” says Todd Haber, CTO of Micron Optics. “Together, the si255 and the new si155 instruments offer access to these measurement capabilities for wind energy, civil structure monitoring, transportation, and power generation applications over a wide range of sensor capacities and price points. ENLIGHT compatibility makes use and deployment of these tools straightforward and simple.”
