Midwest Augustinians Launch Capital Campaign
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 21, 2014 -- To support their increase in vocations and increase in retirement costs, the Augustinians launched their first fundraising capital campaign in over 22 years. The Continuing Our Journey of Faith campaign seeks to build funds for the Fr. Ray Ryan Trust for vocations and the Journey of a Lifetime Trust for the retired and infirm Augustinians.
“Since we have not done a major campaign in 22 years and need to grow our base of supporters, we are setting a campaign goal of $3.5 million,” said the Very Reverend Bernard C. Scianna, O.S.A., Ph.D., Prior Provincial of the Midwest Augustinians, in an online video announcement. “While the proven need is $15 million, we understand that we must go at it incrementally. We are all committed to doing all that we can do to spread the word and to support this vitally important effort.”
In the quiet phase of their campaign, $2.5 million in pledges and gifts were contributed from 132 donors. The $2.5 million raised to date is almost double the amount of gifts raised since their last capital campaign in 1992.
The campaign leadership team comes from the various ministries of the Midwest Augustinians, including their supporters from their parishes and high schools. Their campaign chair is Milann Siegfried, who has supported the Midwest Augustinians since meeting them at Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Midwest Augustinians are a Catholic religious order that follow the teachings of St. Augustine. The local Augustinians have served in parishes and schools in the Midwestern United States since 1905, as well as missions in Peru since 1963.
