Midwest Libraries Expand Self-Service Pickup Locations with LEID Products Library Solutions
Auburn Hills, MI (PRWEB) June 06, 2017 -- LEID Products, LLC., the leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced growing demand for its Access.it Library Solutions in Ohio and Illinois. These libraries report that the popularity of self-service after-hour pickup service among library patrons is growing. Worthington and Pickerington Public Libraries in Ohio and Barrington Public Library in Illinois are all expanding their self-service locations originally purchased from LEID Products.
LEID’s Access.it System with electronic library lockers is a cost-effective, secure, rugged, and tamperproof self-service library access system for libraries to make materials more accessible to all patrons. Libraries can offer 24/7 access to library holds by placing the self-service Access.it units outside the branch. Libraries can also open new self-service mini branches at other community gathering locations such as recreation centers, parks, train stations, etc.
A customer of LEID Products for ten years, Barrington Area Library offers patrons four self-service pickup locations: South Branch in the South Barrington Park District; Willow Recreation Center; Barrington Hills Village Hall; and the Barrington Train Station. The new Access.it electronic locker system will be installed at the Willow Recreation Center. Head of Operations, Vicki Rakowski commented on the success of the program and working with LEID Products, "The lockers are high-quality, very functional and secure. It is easy for customers and staff to load and unload them. It can’t be complicated and they are not. LEID Products provides really good and responsive customer service. You absolutely get what you pay for."
Pickerington Public Library purchased their first Access.it electronic library locker system two years ago to offer 24/7 self-service pickup outside the library. The success and popularity of the first installation led to an investment in a second location to be installed outside of the library’s new branch opening soon on the community’s north side. "The lockers create a convenience for individuals who are unable to make it here during our normal operating hours. They open up access to the library materials 24/7,” said Director of Pickerington Public Library, Tony Howard. “They are very easy to use for both staff and patrons; very user friendly."
Worthington Public Library has been a customer of LEID Products for ten years and offers after-hours pickup at all three of its branches. With growing patron demand for after-hours pickup convenience, the Library purchased additional Access.it electronic library lockers to expand the self-service pickup location outside of the library’s Worthington Park Branch. "This is a convenient way for patrons to access materials after our library is closed,” said Susan Allen, director of technology services at Worthington Libraries.
