Midwest Reproductive Center Adds Renowned Embryologist to Team
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Dr. Oscar Perez joins Midwest Reproductive Center in the IVF lab, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience, a Ph.D from Louisiana State University, and a dedication to advancing the field of embryology and andrology.
Dr. Perez previously served at one of the Top 10 Advanced Reproductive Technology (ART) programs in the United States, and has personally performed:
• 2,500 oocyte retrievals
• 2,400 ICSI cases (male infertility treatment)
• 2,000 embryo transfers
• 250 blastocyst vitrifications
• 100 oocyte vitrifications (a new technology for fertility preservation and fertility rescue)
Dr. Dan Gehlbach, a board certified reproductive endocrinologist and founder of Midwest Reproductive Center, relies on his in-house IVF lab to maintain precise standards to achieve the best possible results in a fertility treatment cycle. The expansion of his IVF lab, scheduled to open in early 2014, coincided with the arrival of Dr. Perez.
“My goal for ensuring the highest quality of IVF lab standards aligns with the mission at Midwest Reproductive Center of making pregnancy possible despite the disease of infertility,” says Dr. Perez. “I pursued a doctoral degree and advanced training and certifications because I am entrusted with a precious gift – a human embryo. I come to work every day knowing that success is measured one pregnancy at a time.”
A pioneer in embryology, Dr. Perez was the first embryologist to earn certification in human embryology. Research areas of special interest to Dr. Perez help expand options for couples experiencing infertility. For example, with elective single embryo transfer, couples can avoid the risk of multiple births; oocyte vitrification, or egg freezing, preserves fertility; and blastomere and trophectoderm biopsies leads to the transfer of disease-free embryos.
