Miguel Flores Bernés Joins Greenberg Traurig's Mexico City Office
Mexico City (PRWEB) July 07, 2015 -- International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is pleased to announce that leading competition lawyer Miguel Flores Bernés, a former Commissioner of the Mexican Federal Competition Commission, has joined the firm’s Mexico City office as a shareholder in the Antitrust, Telecommunications and Competition Practice Group.
Flores Bernés, has experience with the full range of Mexican and multinational competition law, including merger control, market dominance, cartel conduct, investigations, sector inquiries, compliance and regulatory matters. He also has extensive experience in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries.

Flores Bernés is Chair of the Mexican Bar Association’s Anti-Trust/Competition law section. He also serves as Vice-President of the Mexican Competition Committee for the International Chamber of Commerce.
Flores Bernés served as Commissioner of the Mexican Federal Competition Commission from 2006 to 2013, based on an appointment by the Mexican President. During his tenure at the Commission, Flores Bernés was responsible for the analysis and administrative decisions of various cases in connection with mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance and cartel conduct. Thirty percent of all cases heard before the Commission during his tenure were related to the telecommunications and broadcasting industries. Flores Bernés previously served as General Coordinator of Regulatory Impact Analysis for the Federal Commission on Regulatory Improvement. In addition, he was Director General of International and Business Affairs to the Office of the President of Mexico (Public Policy) and also served as Deputy Director General of Foreign Investment at the Mexican Ministry of Economy.
Flores Bernés received a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho and an LL.M. degree in International Economic Law (with distinction) from the University of Warwick.
