MilitaryConnection.com Joins Forces with Altavita and R.A.W. for 5K Run/Walk
Riverside, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2015 -- On Saturday, November 14th, Altavita, Southern California’s premier continuing care retirement community, will host a charity 5K run/walk benefitting non-profit Rebuilding America’s Warriors (R.A.W.). MilitaryConnection.com is proud to be the media sponsor for the event.
All proceeds raised by the 5K Run/Walk will go to support R.A.W.’s mission to prevent the wounds of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars from permanently disfiguring young lives. The funds will go directly towards the injured service member’s transportation, hotel accommodations, food, surgical costs, medical supplies, hospitalization, anesthesia, medications, and aftercare. R.A.W.’s network of 357 surgeons in 47 states provide free reconstructive surgery for those bearing scars from shrapnel, burn and artillery wounds.

About Rebuilding America’s Warriors
Rebuilding America's Warriors (R.A.W.) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing free reconstructive surgery to recently wounded and disfigured active service and veteran status warriors. Disfiguring scars can remain as a result of shrapnel, burn and artillery wounds. Shrapnel itself is often left in the wound site. Disfiguring wounds can interfere with the veteran's ability to seek social encounters and reenter his or her pre-war life. R.A.W. aids the veteran, or active military soldier, in more readily advancing in his profession and in the social arena. Looking one's best also increases self-esteem and will help give our soldiers the confidence to seek their ultimate dreams.
