MilitaryRecords.us.org to Include Court Martial Results in Their Public Records Reports
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- MilitaryRecords.us.org has updated their reports to include the results of court martial proceedings to better serve their customers, the company announced yesterday.
“In the past we focused on service history, medals received, and discharge status,” a MilitaryRecords.us.org spokesman said. “But we've gotten a fair number of requests for court martial records as well. We did our research and discovered that the records are public, so it makes sense for us to make them part of our reports.”
MilitaryRecords.us.org said a court martial can often result from minor infractions of the military code, or can be the result of major crimes.
“The difference is huge for someone doing a background check on a former member of the military,” the MilitaryRecords.us.org spokesman said. “If someone was charged with a one-time incident of getting drunk and being AWOL because he was hangover, that's hugely different from someone being charged with drug or sexual violations. People have the right to know exactly what happened in court martial situations.”
The new court martial records were updated to the MilitaryRecords.us.org database over the past two weeks and are available now, he said.
“It took us a little while to redesign our reports, and we did not want to make an announcement until we were sure that they were up to date and available to everyone,” he said. “We think this will make our reports much more valuable.”
