The start-up is Co-Founded by first-generation, American born entrepreneurs Zacky Hamraz and Adam Siddiq. They are competing against major international platforms such as Upwork, 99designs, and Freelancers.com, becoming the main destination for American employers and freelancers to pursue The New American Dream.
FreelanceAmericans is for more than just Millennials; Veterans and persons with disabilities can benefit greatly from freelancing.
According to disabilitystatistics.org: “1,185,300 non-institutionalized persons aged 21 to 64 years with a disability in the United States who were not working were actively seeking work in 2014”
For Veterans aged 18-34, the unemployment rate was 20% higher than the unemployment rate for non-Veterans.
Currently, 53 million Americans (34 percent of the U.S. workforce) are working as freelancers…and this statistic is growing every year.
“I’ve heard too many stories of people being undercut in freelancing projects by someone from overseas where their cost of living is significantly less. Ironically, I also heard many stories from employers who complained about the lack of quality and communication from freelancers they hired from overseas. That’s when we came up with the idea of FreelanceAmericans. We wanted to create the platform for American freelancers, create trust and quality for employers, and together create a thriving American economy in this digital age,” said Adam Siddiq, Co-CEO.
“Existing freelance platforms are international, making it difficult for American freelancers to compete with global markets due to different currencies and various costs of living. For American employers, they deal with language barriers, time zone issues, and low quality work. Thus, we decided to create a platform that created parity for all Americans.” said Zacky Hamraz, Co-CEO.
FreelanceAmericans is currently signing up interested freelancers and employers for beta-testing prior to officially launching on January 1st, 2017.
