Millennium's FAWS Receives FAA Safety Approval for Commercial Launch Operations

Prior to launch, all launch vehicle operators must first obtain FAA safety approval to ensure safe operation and maintain public safety. The safety approval of FAWS streamlines the FAA Launch Operators License requirements for launch operations using an Autonomous Flight Safety System. Using FAWS, commercial launch operators can expedite their preparation for launch and reentry operations by employing this preapproved safety system.

The FAA requires a set of complex calculations and datasets that demonstrate safe operation of aerospace vehicles throughout flight. FAWS software allows an analyst to convert human-understandable flight safety mission rules into the precise, complex logic required by onboard guidance systems to safely fly missions. The FAWS software was developed to meet the stringent requirements and safety standards set by FAA, NASA, and Air Force Safety offices.
