Miller & Steiert Attorney Benjamin E. Currier Named Colorado Bar Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year
Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- Miller & Steiert, P.C. is pleased to announce Benjamin E. Currier received recognition for his leadership and community involvement with the Colorado Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s Gary L. McPherson Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year. The annual award recognizes young lawyer’s with outstanding professional success and community service achievements.
Currier is a shareholder and partner with the Littleton firm and litigates criminal, family law, and general civil disputes. He has been a leader in both the Colorado and Arapahoe Bar Associations. Throughout his time with both organizations, his goal was to provide legal support to those unable to afford traditional representation.
Currier’s efforts include establishing the Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans program, a statewide pro bono legal services initiative offering legal advice and support to Colorado Veterans, some active duty service members, and military families.
Regarding his work with the firm and in the community, Currier says, “… I try to keep in mind the need for honesty, integrity, hard work, and the responsibility to give back to the community on a consistent basis. As an attorney, I continue to make efforts to be a good steward of and role model for our profession. I am honored to be recognized by my peers.” Currier adds, "This award is very special and receiving it is very humbling. Currier is President – elect of the Arapahoe County Bar Association, a graduate and executive committee member of the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training program, an executive council member and past chair of the CBA Young Lawyers Division, and an Associate Judge for the City of Littleton. In 2007, the ACBA awarded him with its Young Lawyer of the Year award. He is a Colorado native and lives in Denver with his wife Suzanne.
