Minneapolis Marriott Northwest Celebrates First Year as A Marriott with The Brand’s Top Guest Satisfaction Ranking
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- The Minneapolis Marriott Northwest is celebrating its prominence at the top of its prestigious brand. Marriott guests recently ranked the hotel as the top Marriott in North America, an accolade that seemed unattainable not long ago.
Marriott Hotels & Resorts tallies weekly guest satisfaction surveys from stays at the brand's 333 North American locations. After lingering in the top five or 10 for six months or more, guests recently ranked the Twin Cities hotel at the top of the brand.
"With our service-oriented team, we knew it was just a matter of time," explained Bob Schrader, general manager. "Our guests are very loyal and we’re delighted with their appreciation for the accommodations and services provided by our hotel and staff."
StepStone Hospitality, Providence, R.I., took over management of the hotel in October 2010 after it went into foreclosure a year earlier. Formerly known as the Northland Inn, the hotel completed an extensive $24 million renovation prior to converting to the Twin Cities’ newest full-service Marriott hotel in July 2012.
“When we took over operations, our goal was to restore the hotel to its previous prominence as a top Midwest conference center and position the hotel to be a flagship destination property in the Marriott brand,” said Thomas Russo, chief executive officer, StepStone Hospitality. “Thanks to the hard work of our team, we have met our objective in record time.”
The hotel has more than 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it one the top conference hotels in the Twin Cities area. The hotel has space and capabilities for handling events for up to 850 guests. The facility hosts more than 800 events annually for local and national corporations and associations, community organizations and family events, such as weddings.
The all-suite hotel offers some of the most spacious guest rooms in the Upper Midwest. Its 230 two- and three-room guest suites are designed with a living room and a separate bedroom.
The lobby includes the signature Marriott check-in pods, a massive natural stone fireplace with casual seating areas, an extensive fitness center, a business center, an event planning office, and a private reception dining area. Wadsworth’s Bar & Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. The Boundary Waters Café brews specialty coffees by local favorite, Caribou Coffee.
