Miraculous Skydiving Accident Survivor Set to Jump Again
Middletown, OH (PRWEB) August 31, 2013 -- On August 31st of 2012, 24 year old skydiving instructor John Hart 3 was participating on a skydive at the 2012 Work Stinks Boogie. During the deployment of his personal parachute several of his lines were broken. He made a decision to try and land the damaged parachute instead of deploying his reserve system, it was a decision he would soon regret. At 30 feet above the ground he began to flare his canopy and the parachute collapsed and he fell to the earth. John 3 states, “Just before I hit the ground I thought, this is going to hurt.”
His father, John Hart 2, who was on the skydive with him, witnessed the accident and thought he had just lost his oldest son. He stated, "It was a horrible nightmare right in front of me."
But John's story didn’t end there on that field. He survived, and his story and recovery are nothing short of miraculous. He broke his back in three places, broke his pelvis, broke four ribs, broke his left heel and suffered a collapsed lung. His injuries were so severe that they questioned if he would walk again. He not only recovered, he was discharged from the hospital within just 2 weeks, and started the road to walking again. John Hart 2 commented, “The rate at which he healed was amazing to everyone; doctor, nurses, and family. We all had faith that God would help him through this.”
John Hart 3 is jumping again this Sunday 9/01 at 1:00 at the 2013 Work Stinks Boogie at Start Skydiving at the Middletown Regional Airport in Middletown, Ohio, the same place where his story all began one year ago. According to John Hart 3, “The surgeons, nurses and therapists were all amazing and I never doubted that I would skydive again.”
John Hart, owner of Start Skydiving, and founder of Team Fastrax, said “This year’s Boogie obviously has a special meaning to me and our whole skydiving family. It’s a testament to my son’s will to recover, his will to live his life, and God’s love. I am so very humbled and proud.”
John's story is one of strength that comes from his incredible faith. Come on out and meet John and celebrate his ability to skydive again.
