Mission Essential and Ride 2 Recovery Teaming Up for May 24th Ride To Help Veterans on Memorial Day Weekend
COLUMBUS, OHIO (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- Mission Essential is hosting the First Annual Ohio Honor Ride during Memorial Day weekend to raise money and promote awareness for Ride 2 Recovery, which improves the physical and mental well-being of injured veterans with cycling as a means of rehabilitation.
Ride 2 Recovery hosts numerous Honor Rides across the country each year. Scheduled for Saturday, May 24, the ride will start and end in the Northeast Columbus suburb of New Albany, touring the scenic countryside of Central Ohio in routes of 35 or 70 miles.
“For the last decade, Mission Essential has stood with the warfighter on distant battlefields. Now we’re teaming up with Ride 2 Recovery to help these heroes with their battles on the home front,” said CEO Peter Horvath. “In the year since we started working with Ride 2 Recovery, I’ve been overwhelmed by the commitment and positive effect this amazing group has on the lives of the brave men and women who have served our country. A strategic partner in sponsoring this ride is Healthy New Albany, the “for purpose” organization designed to embrace healthy living through community activities, events and personalized wellness and disease prevention programs.
