Mitsui Fudosan America Announces Alice Dalton Brown Art Exhibition at 527 Madison Avenue
NEW YORK, N.Y. (PRWEB) September 13, 2017 -- "Transitions," a series of 10 paintings by Alice Dalton Brown—including "Autumn Reverie" on loan from The Butler Institute of American Art and four new works—is the latest art exhibition to be showcased by Mitsui Fudosan America (MFA) at 527 Madison Avenue in its lobby gallery. From September 13 to November 19, 2017, the exhibition, located at 54th Street and Madison Avenue, is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
An American realist painter, Alice Dalton Brown is known for her water scenes, landscapes and interiors viewed through windows or doors. Her paintings deploy a rhythmic placement of horizontal and vertical elements to create crisp and elegant compositions. A dazzling treatment of light and reflections unites the works on view, which come from several different decades in Brown’s long career. Her paintings serve as metaphors for the passage of time and evoke an uplifting mood that celebrates life.
Born in Danville, Pennsylvania in 1939, Alice Dalton Brown grew up in Ithaca, New York. She studied at the Academy Julian in Paris, L'Université de Grenoble, France, and Cornell University. Brown earned a BA from Oberlin College in 1962. She currently resides in New York.
