Mobile App Cube Brings the Uber Economy to Small Businesses
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) October 27, 2016 -- Cube Innovations Inc, the team behind the Cube mobile community and marketplace, are today announcing the results of the first tests of their content management system for small, local businesses.
The tests, in partnership with the Boston’s Baddest Burger food truck, ran on Oct. 19th and 26th and involved customers in line browsing the menu, ordering and paying from an iPhone running the Cube application and Square credit card swiper. “It was exciting to see people blown away by the idea they could order right from their phone and not have to wait in line,” said Kevin Tortorella, owner of Boston’s Baddest Burger & Sandwich Co. “People that might normally have left instead of waiting were able to get to the pick-up window faster; I’d say, given the manpower, we could easily double our business taking mobile orders and payments.”
During the tests, roughly 18% of all orders were handled through Cube over a 3-hour period, and when giving feedback, users called the experience “intuitive” and “convenient,” and said they would use the app from their own phone to order next time.
The introduction of the sales platform, explains CEO and co-founder Scott Kimball, is targeted at small businesses which often do not consider mobile technology as a viable solution. “Our lives are generally local, and yet the businesses we interact with every day are often furthest away from us in terms of technology,” says Kimball. “Cube creates a level playing field by empowering these small businesses on mobile, and as we continue rolling out the platform we’re excited to work with more local consumer-facing businesses, not only in food services.”
Cube is currently available on the App Store, and the company expects the sales platform to go live to users in the middle of November.
