Mobile Technology Gains Traction in Fight Against Ebola
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 18, 2014 -- AgileMD, a Rock Health and Y-Combinator startup, launched a free mobile app this week containing the CDC’s Ebola transmission prevention guidelines, available for download on both Apple and Android devices. The publication on mobile platforms is already assisting healthcare providers put the CDC guidelines into practice and enable them to safely recognize and treat the disease.
Since launching the mobile app on Tuesday, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Nearly 2,000 physicians and nurses downloaded the mobile resource within hours of the announcement, and many new members have signed up. The most popular file has been the “Signs and Symptoms” document, followed by “About Ebola”, and “Transmission”.
New cases of Ebola among healthcare workers have fueled national concern that healthcare providers outside of a few specialty centers are not prepared to follow CDC protocol correctly.
